“I took the road less travelled by, and that made all the difference!”
His Story ………
Shubham Vanmali is a young boy who has taken the road less travelled by others, inspite of his own challenges and the myriad obstacles that came throughout his journey!
An open water marathon swimmer with extraordinary courage and conviction, Shubham is all set to achieve what no Indian, infact no Asian swimmer has ever attempted; an assisted swim from Goa to Mumbai covering a distance of approximately 413 kms. in a span of 11 days. This feat will be noted by the Guinness Book of World records.
But what makes us, more than happy to be associated with Shubham, is not just his indomitable spirit as a swimmer, but his inspiring and bold resolve to swim for a cause!
A cause that aligns with Aatman Academy’s very existence…. Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD).
Shubham was diagnosed with Dyslexia and Dysgraphia while he was studying in Grade VIII. This was a huge set-back in his life at that point in time, as he had to put in far more efforts to focus on his grades, and this began affecting his swimming lessons. But he didn’t let it pull him down! He persevered and worked hard with grit and determination.
Today, as he prepares for a feat of a lifetime, Aatman Academy stands by him to support him in every possible way.
The ‘oceans are calling’ Shubham, and like the students of Aatman, we can hear him say this out loud and proud… “I’ve willed it, I’ll buiLD it!”
